1. Who controls your information

Sarker Rent A-Car, Trade Licence No. TRAD/DNCC/054159/2022, of 301, Chalabon, Bhai Bhai Market, Azampur, Dakshinkhan, Dhaka-1230, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website and at our counters.

2. What we collect

• Identity and contact details: your name, mobile number, email address, and (where you choose to give it) your National ID or passport number and address.
• Passenger details: the name, gender and age of each passenger travelling on a booking.
• Booking details: routes, dates, trips, seats, boarding and dropping counters, coupons used, and your booking history.
• Payment details: the method used, the amount, the transaction reference returned by the gateway, and — for bank transfers — the payment slip you upload.
• Account details: your login email or mobile number and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in readable form.
• Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected to keep the service secure and working.

We never see or store your full card number, CVV, PIN, OTP or mobile-wallet password. Those are entered directly on the payment gateway's own secure page and never reach our servers.

3. Why we use it

• To issue, deliver and honour your ticket, and to identify you at the boarding counter.
• To take payment and to process cancellations and refunds.
• To send you booking confirmations, ticket copies, refund vouchers and service messages about trips you have booked.
• To provide customer support when you contact us about a booking.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to keep records of transactions.
• To detect and prevent fraud and misuse of the booking system.
• To improve routes, schedules and the website itself, using aggregated statistics that do not identify you.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

• Payment gateway: SSLCommerz and the banks and mobile-wallet providers behind it, so that your payment can be taken and verified.
• Our own operations staff — counter staff, supervisors and drivers — who need the passenger manifest for the specific trip you are travelling on.
• Service providers who send our emails and SMS messages on our behalf.
• Government authorities, law enforcement and regulators, where we are legally required to disclose information.

5. How long we keep it

• Booking, payment and refund records: retained for at least 6 years, as required for tax and accounting purposes.
• Account information: kept while your account is open, and for 12 months after you ask us to close it.
• Uploaded bank payment slips: kept for 2 years after the transaction is settled.
• Technical logs: kept for up to 12 months.

6. Your rights

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date — you can update most details yourself under your profile.
• Ask us to delete your account and the information we are not legally obliged to keep.
• Opt out of promotional messages at any time. Service messages about a booking you have made cannot be opted out of while that booking is live.

7. Security

The website is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and access to booking and payment data inside our admin panel is limited by role — counter staff, managers and accounts staff each see only what their job requires.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will inform you and the relevant authorities without undue delay.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage only for things the site needs to work: keeping you signed in, remembering the seats you are holding while you complete checkout, and measuring basic usage so we can fix problems.

You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the booking flow will not work correctly without them.

9. Children

Our booking service is intended for adults. Children travel as passengers on a booking made by an adult, and we only collect a child's name, age and gender for the purpose of that journey.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will publish the new version here and update the date shown at the top of the page.
